Borough of Oswestry

Oswestry was a District with the status of a borough in the county of Shropshire in England. Administrative headquarters was the town of the same name Oswestry. Almost half of the population lived based on the Borough of Oswestry town. The Borough also included the locations Trefonen and Ruyton -XI -Towns.

The District was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the former Rural District Oswestry. It was resolved in the course of administrative reform on 1 April 2009 and went on in the new Unitary Authority Shropshire.
