Boßler

The Bossler is a 799.7 m above sea level. NHN high mountains of the Swabian Alb. The concise summit on Albtrauf lies on the boundary of the municipality in the district of Göppingen Gruibingen.

Recovery goals

On the Boßler is located at an altitude of 785 m a working agricultural house of the Friends-of- town group Göppingen, the Boßlerhaus, which is a popular hiking destination near the Gruibinger Wiesle.

500 m west of the Friends of Nature House offers the Boßler a remarkable vantage point on the escarpment at an altitude of 794.7 m above sea level. NHN. The Swabian Alb - North Rand road leads on this point. Even in moderate weather the view far to the west.

Traffic routes

The Federal Highway 8 passes through the north Boßler between the connection point and the motel Aichelberglifte Gruibingen.

The planned new Wendlingen -Ulm is the mountain in a series of tunnels, including the approximately 8.7 km long Boßler Tunnel drive through.

Plane crashes

On Boßler it already came often to tragic airplane accidents. In most cases, the aircraft collided in poor visibility with the unexpectedly high mountain (where it is not " plane crashes ", but CFIT ):
