Botanischer Garten der Universität Ulm

The Botanical Garden Ulm, officially Botanical Garden of the University of Ulm, is a botanical garden which was created as a central institution of the University of Ulm in 1981. It is bordered on the southeast to the building of the university on the Upper Eselsberg and covers an area of approximately 28 hectares.

History

The site was formerly a shooting range. The approval of the Garden by the Ministry of Science and Arts of Baden -Württemberg was 1981. With the excavation of the hospital ( about 150,000 m³) was 1980/1981 modeled the terrain and designed topographically. In 1986 the first homes were built in cultivation. The arboretum was created in three phases from 1992 to 1994.

1997, two tropical houses were created and made ​​other enhancements. It was followed by 1998, the system of the cottage garden, and from 1999 to 2000 by a rose garden. 2001 was created in collaboration with the pharmaceutical company Ratiopharm a " New pharmacy garden ".

2001-2002 Operating and administrative buildings were built.
