Botanischer Garten Kassel

The Botanical Garden Kassel is on the edge of the Park Schönfeld, northwest of the castle Schönfeld in Wehlheiden district of Kassel. The garden was established in 1912 by separation of a 1.5 acre tract from the Park Schönfeld as a school garden. He served the vegetable growing between the wars and was 1948/49, designed as a botanical garden, which was remodeled in 1955 at the Federal Garden Show. In 1982, the financial support was set by the city and turned the garden into a public green space with lawns. Since 2003, the garden was back to a botanical garden, which now houses an avenue, a perennial, rose and herb garden and a cactus house and a school Biological Center.
