Boubacar Sanogo (born 17 December 1982 Dimbokro, Ivory Coast ) is an Ivorian football player.

Career

Clubs

The striker first played in his home country when Siroco FC San Pedro before he did his first Espérance Sportive de Tunis 1999 Tunisia and 2002 in the United Arab Emirates. He played there until 2005 at Al Ain club of Abu Dhabi, with whom he won the AFC Champions League in 2003. There he also in 54 league games scoring 43 goals.

For the season 2005/ 06 he undertook the first FC Kaiserslautern, where he signed a contract until 2009. Sanogo scored in his first Bundesliga match against Duisburg a goal and became one of the most important players for the Palatinate. In Kaiserslautern, he was crowd favorite and received the nickname " bobby " and " Bouba ". In February 2006 he was elected Player of the Month.

For the season 2006/ 07 he moved for a transfer fee of 3.8 million euros estimated to Hamburger SV, for whom he scored in his first competitive match in the League Cup against Werder Bremen, a goal. Even in his first Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League Sanogo each scored a goal for HSV. The rest of the season was disappointing.

For the season 2007/ 08 changed Sanogo as the successor of the FC Bayern Munich Miroslav Klose exchanged to Werder Bremen. He signed a contract until 2011 there too, he was in his first competitive game use ( as for the 1st FC Kaiserslautern and Hamburger SV) score a goal. He met the 1-0 victory in the first round of the DFB - Cup 2007 / 08 against Eintracht Braunschweig. In his first season at Werder he came up with nine league matches, were added four Champions League goals (one of them in qualifying ).

During the winter break of the 2008/09 season, after he had only replacement in Bremen, Sanogo was loaned until the season end at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. In his first competitive match against Energie Cottbus use he could make immediately, more league goals no longer reach him there, however. An agreed option to purchase Sanogo has not been drawn, so that the striker returned to Bremen after half a year. There was an attempt to give it again or sell it. There was, however, not an immediate prospect, so that Sanogo aground on August 2, 2009 in the first round of the DFB Cup in the starting of the Bremer; he scored two goals.

On 20 August 2009 Sanogo moved to AS Saint- Étienne. Since early 2012, the Ivorians was without a club after his contract was terminated at AS St. Etienne.

During the summer break in 2012 Boubacar Sanogo signed with Energie Cottbus a contract until 30 June 2014. In his first competitive game for Cottbus Sanogo scored in the 2-2 draw in Ingolstadt two goals. Also in the following games Sanogo met regularly and was finally with 15 goals this season 's fifth best second division 's top scorer in 2012/13 and a key player for Cottbus.

National

In the fall of 2006, he was first nominated for the Ivory Coast. He had to fight there with strong competition such as Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and Abdul Kader Keïta.
