Boxhamsters

Boxhamsters is a punk band founded in 1987 in Giessen.

The name of the band goes back to the Monty Python sketch Upper Class Twit of the Year, in the German translation a Mr. Boxhamster wins the competition jerk polite society. The Boxhamsters sing in German. Her musical heroes include U.S. bands such as Hüsker Dü and Sonic Youth as British groups such as Buzzcocks and The Who. In some songs they use samples from the German dubbed versions of various films, such as from The Great Dictator, The boat, Star Wars, Jim Knopf and ¡ Three Amigos!. The album Saugschmerle of 2000 was assessed by the music magazine Visions 12 of 12 points.

Side projects

Boxhamsterssänger Co and EA80 singer boy operate the fun project The evil hand of the several singles with mostly cover versions, as well as a CD with all previous publications exist. Since 2009, the drummer of the Boxhamsters, Ulf Jachimsky plays, even in Nagasaki Frontal.
