BPM (time service)

BPM is the call sign of the short-wave transmitter of the national time signal service of the People's Republic of China. Transmitter site is Lintong ( a city district of Xi'an ) in Shaanxi Province. It is operated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He sends time signals on the following shortwave frequencies: 2.5 MHz, 5 MHz, 10 MHz and 15 MHz. The advantage of the short wavelength is reflected by the good ionospheric layers, the timing signal is large, however varying range.
