Brachypelma boehmei is a Mexican tarantulas - type, which is common to the coastal region in Guerrero.

Features

In the legs, the tarsi brown. Metatarsus, tibia and patella are colored orange. The femora of the legs are black. The carapace is ocher in color. The abdomen is dark brown and carries several orange hair.

Lifestyle and behavior

The animals come into terrain ahead with gradients that are shaded with trees, bushes and boulders. Under suitable conditions can be found in a small space a lot of animals ( about 50 per hectare).

It is one of the ground-dwelling tarantulas. The animals hide among roots, pieces of bark, stones or fall foliage. In colder months and during molting and brood care she retreats into burrows, which they lined in silk spinning.

They feed on small insects such as beetles or caterpillars. The cocoon of the female is filled with about 800 eggs.

The animals are cared for since their description in terrariums and also bred regularly.
