Brahms (crater)

Brahms is an impact crater on the planet Mercury. It has a diameter of 97 km, its age is about 3.5 billion years ago. He was named after the German composer Johannes Brahms.

The Brahms Crater is located in the north-west, north of the Caloris Planitia. In the center of the crater is a 3 km high central mountain. After the impact of the meteorite, the walls of the crater slipped inside. The irregularly shaped crater, surrounded by mounds, and the concentricity of the terraces go back to this operation. These formations are typical of a crater 10-130 km.
