Braintree (MBTA-Station)
Braintree is the name of a metro station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ( MBTA ) in the eponymous place Braintree, Massachusetts in the United States. It provides access to the metro line Red Line and commuter trains to the MBTA Commuter Rail. The station is the southern terminus of the Red Line and transit station for the commuter rail lines of the Old Colony Lines.
History
The station was opened on 22 March 1980 for the Red Line. Since the reopening of the Old Colony Lines on 26 September 1997, the station is also served by trains these lines.

Track, signaling and safety systems
The underground station has four tracks, two for the Red Line and two of which are available for the Commuter Rail trains. They are each accessible via a central platform.

The metro station is located at the address 197 Ivory Street and is completely accessible.

At the station there is a connection to two bus lines of the MBTA. In addition, there are 1,281 fee-based park and ride parking.
