Bramschebach

The Bramschebach is a right tributary of the river Werre in the northeast of the German Federal State of North Rhine -Westphalia.

Geography

The lake has a total length of approximately 5.5 km. The catchment area covers a part of the Ravens Mulde between Werre, Else and Weser.

The body of water rises near Black Moor on Dornsberg ( Lipper Bergland ) and flows north-east of Schweicheln - Bermbeck in Herford district Falkendiek in the Werre ( river kilometer 17). The creek is in the lower reaches of the boundary between wages and Herford.

The water flows through on its way from the source to the mouth of the following municipalities:

  • Herford
  • Wages

On his way, the water takes downriver considered the following waters on:

  • Nail Bach ( R 4)
  • Unnamed creek (R 2.5 )

Environment

The valley of the Bramschebachs and the by Bach Bach nail stand on a river length of 6 km nature reserve. The nature reserve Bramschebach-/Nagelsbachtal is for the most part (about 105.9 ha) in Herford and to a lesser extent ( about 87.5 ha) in wages and has a total size of 193.3 ha Formally, the nature reserve of two nature reserves, however the spatially form a unit. The area is protected since 1995/1996. The river valley is pronounced as a for the Ravens Berger typical country, close to nature and widespread Sieksystem. The Siek - Kastental has up to 8 m high slope levels. In the valley there are ash, willow and alder wood shore, head rows of trees and fruit stocks. To no longer natural fish ponds some natural ponds with floating plants and reed-beds are available. Mostly the valley bottom is pronounced as a wet grassland. The valley slopes are covered with beech trees. The wetlands in the region are particularly sensitive areas.
