Brandon Barnes

Brandon Barnes ( born October 10, 1972 in Denver) is an American musician and drummer of the punk band Rise Against. Through his involvement with Rise Against, he gained great popularity. Since 2000 he has worked as a drummer on all albums.

Life

At age nine, Barnes got his first drum set from his grandfather, the jazz musician in Chicago, was given. At the age of twelve to 17 years, he took music lessons for the instrument. He also played in a jazz band in high school. Later, he studied music at the University of Colorado, in which he also played in the music program.

In 1988, Barnes started the band Pinhead Circus. This released two albums before they broke up in 2000, shortly after Barnes had become drummer of Rise Against. Since then, Barnes is permanent member of Rise Against and played on all six LPs drums.

He lives with his wife and daughter Stella Torah in Norridge, Illinois.

Style

Looking at his style, we noticed that Barnes is able to play extremely fast, which proves to be an advantage as well as Rise Against often plays fast. To recognize that is particularly well to the songs Boy's no Good and Heaven Knows.
