Brandon Knight (basketball)

Brandon Knight (born 2 December 1991 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida ) is an American professional basketball player.

High School

Brandon Knight was one of the most talented high school basketball player in the country. During his high school years at the Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, he was awarded twice as the Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year. He is only the third player after LeBron James (2002 and 2003) and Greg Oden (2005 and 2006), to have managed this. It was 2010 in the annual ' McDonald 's All American Game', a selection of the best high school basketball players in the country, nominated for his performance. He also played in the same year with the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland and at the Jordan Brand Classic in New York.

College

After his high school career, Knight chose the University of Kentucky under head coach John Calipari to play. He inherited John Wall, who joined in the same year in the NBA, on the position of point guard. Knight played a good freshman season and led his team to the Final Four of the NCAA. There Kentucky defeated the team of the University of Connecticut to Kemba Walker. After leaving Brandon Knight said he would change after one year in college to the NBA.

NBA

When NBA Draft 2011 Knight was one of the five best players of the vintage. However, he was passed up at position 8 and selected by the Detroit Pistons.

Knight established himself in his first year as a -starting point guard in Detroit and achieved in 32.3 minutes 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists. For these achievements, he was appointed to the NBA All- Rookie First Team.

On July 31, 2013, was transferred along with Viacheslav Kravtsov and Khris Middleton in exchange for Brandon Jennings to the Milwaukee Bucks.
