Brandon Yip

Brandon Yip ( born April 25, 1985 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since July 2013, he plays for the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League for the position of right winger.

Career

Yip played in his youth at the Coquitlam Express in the British Columbia Hockey League. NHL Entry Draft 2004, he was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the eighth round at a total of 239 point. Nevertheless, he ran four more seasons on the U.S. college hockey East Division in the play mode of the National Collegiate Athletic Association for the Boston University, with whom he won the championship in the 2008 /09 season.

On 22 July 2009 Brandon Yip received his first professional contract by the Avalanche. He was subsequently added to the roster of Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League, the farm team of the Avalanche. For this he gave on 1 December 2009 after nearly three months of injury lay his debut in professional hockey, scoring in a 6-2 victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins right away his first goal. After six games for the Monsters, he was summoned to the NHL squad the Colorado Avalanche. The striker added easily to the team, scoring 18 points in 26 games before a shoulder injury put him for just five weeks out of action. Yip received his first regular season in the NHL with 19 points in 32 games off and was able to achieve four more points in six playoff games against the San Jose Sharks. Following the season, the expiring contract of winger has been extended by two years.

After he had put on the Waiverliste the Avalanche, secured on 19 January 2011 the Nashville Predators, as they selected the striker, his services.

On July 19, 2013 it was announced that Yip 'll switch to the Phoenix Coyotes. He received a one-year contract. Already in October 2013 Yip was on the AHL farm team of the Coyotes, who made Portland Pirates.
