Brañosera

Brañosera is a place and a Spanish municipality ( municipio ) in the province of Palencia in the Autonomous Community of Castile- Leon msnm to 1220. It has an area of ​​62 km ², population 230 (2013 ) and a population density of 4 inhabitants per km ².

Location

The municipality is located 118 kilometers north of the provincial capital, Palencia and north of Aguilar de Campoo. Brañosera can be reached via the road P -220.

Demographics

History

Brañosera is one of the oldest towns in the region. In the year 824 the Count Munio Núñez was put on the spot during the Reconquista.

Attractions

  • Romanesque church of Santa Eulalia
  • Ermita San Miguel, which is the first time 824 survived. The church underwent major changes over the centuries.
  • Springs Cuevas del Cobre, in the cave of Pisuerga

Economy

The place lived since the 19th century from the mining of coal and minerals. The decline of the industry since the 1960s is clearly reflected in the population development.
