Branson is a city with 10,520 inhabitants ( 2010) in Missouri. It is located 64 km south of Springfield, 88 km north-east of Rogers, 124 km south-east of Joplin, 254 km north-east to Tulsa, 267 km south-west of Columbia, 346 km south-west of St. Louis and 297 miles south-east of Kansas City, whose metropolitan area and part of Stone County and Taney County. Branson is located on the White River and on Route 76

Despite its rather isolated location, the city is also referred to as "The Live Entertainment Capital of the World" or as a "family -friendly Las Vegas ". The city has more than 50 theaters and numerous museums, one of the nation's only six museums across the U.S. president and a Titanic museum with numerous artifacts and a full-scale replica of the central staircase of the ship. Branson is located in the immediate vicinity of the reservoir Lake Taneycomo.

The city has nearly 8 million visitors annually.

Since May 2009 Branson also has its own airport.
