(Formerly known as brown water stream ) The stream Brown water in the district of Harz, in Saxony-Anhalt is a right tributary of the orographic Holtemme in the resin.

The brown water rises in Hohnebruch which lies to the east below the Hohnekamm ( Hohneklippen ) near Drei Annen Hohne in the resin. It flows through the Thumkuhlental and flows near the train station Hasserode the resin cross and Brockenbahn in the Holtemme.

The brown water was called in the 16th century brown water stream. After Bach, a street is named in Hasserode. The water was from the 17th to the 19th century, partly border river of the Prussian Office Hasserode.
