Bréançon

Bréançon is a commune with 362 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Val- d'Oise in the Île- de -France region; it belongs to Arrondissement Pontoise and Canton Marines. The inhabitants " Bréançonnais " or " Bréançonnaises " call themselves.

Geography

The community Bréançon located 38 kilometers north of Paris. It is located in the Regional Natural Park Vexin français.

Bréançon lies in the Vexin and consists of four districts: Bréançon, Rosnel le, le Fay and la Ferme de la Laire. Neighboring municipalities are Marines, Le Heaulme, Haravilliers, Theuville, Grisy -les- Plâtres, Cormeilles -en- Vexin and Frémécourt.

History

Gallo - Roman remains bear witness to an early settlement of the place.

The Seugnerie de Bréançon belonged in the 18th century, the Marquis de Gouy, Maréchal de camp of Armées du roi and Lieutenant Général d' Ile- de -France.

1866, the railway line from Valmondois was inaugurated by Marines, was connected via the Bréançon with Pontoise and Paris. This line was discontinued in 1949.
