Breiðárlón

The Breiðárlón is a glacial lake at the southern end of the Icelandic glacier Vatnajökull. It is located below the Breiðamerkurjökull, a valley glacier of Vatnajökull. The lake is located in the municipality Hornafjörður.

In addition, the Breiðárlón is not far from Skaftafell National Park and west of the better-known lake Jökulsárlón on the Breiðamerkulsander. Its water pour into the form of the river Breiðá in the neighboring Fjallsárlón.
