Bremen Island

The Bremen is an island about 1 km ² large area covered 95% with ice, uninhabited island of the Melchior Islands on the western side of the Antarctic Peninsula in the Southern Ocean ( Antarctic Ocean ).

History

It was named after the cruise ship Bremen from which had discovered from passengers and crew of an inflatable boat on February 2, 2003 the narrow, about 1 km long channel of the left are identified as a separate island adjacent part, instead of the previously referred to in charts as part of the adjacent Omega island. The channel is now officially called Bremen channel.
