Brett Engelhardt

Brett Engelhardt ( born August 12, 1980 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who played in the course of his career, including for the Augsburger Panther and Hamburg Freezers of the DEL.

Career

Brett Engelhardt began his career in 1998 as a hockey player with the Green Bay Gamblers, for which he played a total of two years in the United States Hockey League. He then spent four years active for the Hockey Team of the Michigan Tech in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In his last year of university, he made his debut in professional hockey and also came two appearances at the Philadelphia Phantoms in the American Hockey League. In the season 2004/ 05 Engelhardt was both in the AHL with the St. John 's Maple Leafs, and in the ECHL Gwinnett Gladiators in the contract. In the following two years, the Americans stood by the AHL Toronto Marlies team on the ice.

On 1 August 2007 Engelhardt awarded a contract as a free agent with the Detroit Red Wings, but played exclusively for their farm team Grand Rapids Griffins. On February 8, 2008, he undertook the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Francis Lemieux. However, until end of the season he came exclusively in the AHL with the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Grand Rapids Griffins used.

After these shaped by many years of association Jump striker moved to Europe, where he first signed a contract with the Augsburger Panther of the DEL. After two strong seasons he moved to the Hamburg Freezers, where he also completed two seasons. In June 2012, Engelhardt signed a contract with the incumbent at that time Austrian champion EHC Black Wings Linz in the EBEL and ended after the contract expires in April 2013 his career.
