Brette

Brette is a commune with 34 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the south of the department of Drôme in the Rhône -Alpes. It belongs to the canton of La Motte- Chalancon and the Local Government Association Pays Diois.

Geography

Brette is located at an average altitude of 1060 meters above sea level, 45 km north-east of Montelimar, surrounded by the neighboring communities are Pradelle, Saint- Nazaire- le- Désert and Volvent. The Roanne flows on the western edge by the municipality, which has an area of ​​15.5 square kilometers.

History

Brette 1793 received the status of a municipality and in 1801 the right to local self-government in the wake of the French Revolution ( 1789-1799 ). The highest population (254 ), the municipality had 1851. Thereafter, the population declined until 1990, when the town had only 27 residents.

Economy
