Brew Moore

Milton Aubrey " Brew " Moore ( born March 26, 1924 in Indianola (Mississippi ); † August 19, 1973 in Copenhagen) was an American jazz saxophonist.

Brew Moore made ​​his first musical experiences as a professional in the bands of Claude Thornhill and Kai Winding. He was one of the Four Brothers in the Woody Herman herds, 1953 took part in sessions with Tony Fruscella and lived from 1955 to 1960 in San Francisco. From 1960 to 1967 he lived in Europe and played in Paris in 1961 with Kenny Clarke. From 1962 he lived in Scandinavia and was a sought-after session musician. His model was Lester Young. On LPs and CDs he can be heard with Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan and Stan Getz. Records under his own name emerged just a few, including albums for Fantasy and Steeplechase Records. A fall under the influence of alcohol led to the end of his career.
