Brian Asawa

Brian Asawa ( born October 1, 1966 in Fullerton, near Los Angeles, California) is an American countertenor.

The international career of the Japanese- singer began in 1991, when he won a singing competition of the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the San Francisco Opera. In the latter, he made his debut the same year in Hans Werner Henze's The Betrayed sea. 1992 followed by roles in Puccini's Tosca and Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream. In 1992, he debuted at the Met in Mozart's Ascanio in Alba. In the years following roles followed in opera houses around the world. So he went about in appearance in Handel's Serse, Giulio Cesare and Tolomeo, Britten's Death in Venice, Monteverdi's L' incoronazione di Poppea, Strauss' Die Fledermaus and Handel's Tolomeo.
