Brian Garrow

Brian Garrow ( born April 8, 1968 in Santa Clara, California ) is a former American professional tennis player.

Life

Garrow was defeated in 1986 at the U.S. Open Junior tournament in the first round Michael Stich. He studied at the University of California, Los Angeles and won in 1988 with Patrick Galbraith the National Collegiate Athletic Association doubles title. In the same year he was in the singles final of the NCAA, where he lost to Robbie Weiss. Overall, he was elected three times to the best selection of All-American.

In 1988 he became a professional tennis player, in the following year he won the individual titles of the ATP Challenger tournament in Winnetka Challenger and three double titles. However, his greatest achievement this year was the doubles title at the ATP World Tour, which he won at the side of Patrick Galbraith in Newport. In 1990 he won in Rio De Janeiro his second and final doubles title on the ATP World Tour, he also reached the final of two other ATP Tournaments. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1992 with position 92 in the singles and 1991 position 42 in doubles.

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament were Erstrundenteilnahmen at the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. In the doubles competition in 1990 he reached the semi-finals of the U.S. Open. On the side of Sven Salumaa he was defeated in five sets just the eventual tournament winners Pieter Aldrich and Danie Visser.
