Bride (Band)

Bride is a Christian Metal-/Hardrock-Band. It was founded by brothers Dale and Troy Thompson in the 1980s. Despite criticism for the frequent change of style the band, it is popular especially in the U.S., Brazil and Central Europe.

The band's name (German: Bride ) refers to the bride of Christ (Rev. 21.2 EU 21.9 EU 22,17 EU), the community of Christians.

History

The band was founded in Louisville, Kentucky under the name matrix. In 1983, the Thompson brothers began with the first demo recordings. A total of four demos were produced and mostly sold at concerts and through advertisements. In 1986, the band on the opening act of the Canadian Daniel tape. The performance helped them for the first record deal. The name has now changed to Bride. This was followed by the plates Show No Mercy and Live to Die.

After a change in the occupation was established in 1989 Silence is Madness, the 1990 End of the Age as the first followed " Best of " album, which also marked the transition from the original metal sound towards more accessible hard rock, the style of the time was ajar. For the Best of album, the two tracks Everybody Knows My Name and Same Ol ' Sinner were recorded, the 14 or 8 weeks were as singles No. 1 on the Christian Metal charts.

The album Kinetic Faith brought forth several hits in American radio. Another Best of album, Shotgun Wedding, followed Snakes In The Playground - according to many fans still the best all - Bride albums - and Scarecrow Messiah.

The next albums Drop and The Jesus Experience had a more alternative style. To the design of the CD cover of the last album, there was a scandal, because Jesus was a picture behind the CD ' on an electric chair, which was intended as spiritual stimulation, but was eventually removed.

Continually evolving, the band released the following three plates Oddities, Fistful of Bees and This Is It out again with rockigerem sound, with Dale Thompson also tried rapping.

With the album Skin for skin they attached again to the hard rock style of previous albums.
