Brindle

As a special brindle coat pattern is named in animals, similar to tiger and zebra. The strips are sold in approximately normal, but not as clear as in the aforementioned animals, more tone on tone.

Very often these staining with brindle with dogg similar dogs (eg boxers, bulldogs, mastiffs and the resulting site mongrels ) is observed. Very consistently the coloring is gold / black and brindle. Brindling also occurs in horses and is now referred to herein as Brindle.

In the dog, the brindle is caused by the allele kbr ( Brindle ) of the K locus. The brindle is recessive to the dominant black color of the domestic dog ( allele KB) encoded by the same locus. The K locus is on the canine chromosome 16
