Britannia inferior

Britannia Inferior was a province of the Roman Empire and was in northern England. It was created by the division of the province of Britannia ( Britain). Their capital city was Eboracum ( York).

In the 4th century AD it was the administrative reform of Emperor Diocletian in the provinces of Britannia secunda further to the north, with its capital Eboracum, and Flavia Caesariensis, with its capital at Lindum Colonia ( Lincoln), divided. 369 In addition, the province was Valentia (named after the emperors Valentinian and Valens ) with its capital Luguvallium ( Carlisle) separated.
