Broadcast (Band)

Broadcast is a British electronic band from Birmingham, England, that was by the mainly working with electronic music label Warp Records. The protagonists are composed of the core trio Trish Keenan (vocals), James Cargill (bass) and Tim Felton ( guitar). On the drums were already seated among others Phil Jenkins, Neil Bullock and Stephen Perkins. The band has released three albums, several EPs, two singles and EP compilations. In October 2009, broadcast brought their latest mini-album Broadcast and The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age on the market. It was created in collaboration with The Focus Group ( Julian House) and had a comparatively from psychedelic and experimental. End of the year they covered Gravenhurst her song " I Found the F ", which is on the label compilation Warp20 ( Recreated ) appeared.

On 14 January 2011 the singer Trish Keenan died of pneumonia.

Style

The band's style can be regarded as a mixture of retro-futuristic electronic sounds and the characteristic vocals of singer Keenan. The latter are strongly influenced by the vocal style of the 1960s. Influence is also practiced the well-known in the sixties American psychedelic band The United States Of America, which often began the same electronic effects. The music of Broadcast addition reminds partly to the Stereolab, with whom they are often compared.
