Bronco (TV series)

Bronco is an American Western series that was produced 1958-1962.

Action

Bronco Layne, a former officer of the Confederate Army of the South returns to the end of the American Civil War back home. There awaits him a dismissive, even hostile reception. It is accused of having betrayed a prisoner of war comrades to the north. Bronco is not in a position to refute these allegations; he incurs as an adventurer to the West, where he is notably Wild Bill Hickok, Billy the Kid and Jesse James.

Background

Bronco is a spin -off of the series Cheyenne. Once the transmitter is separated in the dispute of the main characters Clint Walker, Ty Hardin first took over the lead role in the series as Cheyenne Bronco Layne. As Clint Walker returned to the series, Hardin received his own series as a Bronco. Were produced both series of Warner Brothers Television.

From January 1967 to August 1968 26 episodes were shown on ZDF. 1969 some episodes were repeated. Among the directors of the series episodes were among others André De Toth, who - as a one-eyed man - even the 3D movie House of Wax turned ( " The House of Wax " ), Arthur Lubin and Robert Altman.

Among the better-known supporting cast included among others Jack Elam, Denver Pyle, Alan Hale Jr., James Coburn, Jack Cassidy and Lee Van Cleef.
