Brookfield Place (Toronto)

Brookfield Place (formerly BCE Place ) is the name of a built 1990-1991 office and retail complex in Downtown Toronto. The two acres of floor space measured Brookfield Place is bordered to the east of Yonge Street, north of Wellington Street, west of Bay Street and south of Front Street. The complex consists of two skyscrapers Bay Wellington Tower (49 floors, 207 meters) and TD Canada Trust Tower (53 floors, 261 meters ), which are connected by the six-storey Allen Lambert Galleria. The TD Canada Trust Tower is one of the tallest skyscrapers in Toronto. A striking feature of this high-rise is the stair-like escalating upward shape that bear on their top four aligned in the respective directions green squares with white letters TD. The complex provides 242,000 square feet of office space. In the complex of Brookfield Place is also home to the Hockey Hall of Fame. It was planned that Brookfield Place by the architects Bregman Hamann Architects and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill.

Allen Lambert Galleria

The parallel to Front Street Allen Lambert Galleria running was built in 1992 as a result of an international architecture competition by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The organic arch structure spanning six floors inside the complex. A small part of the structure outside the complex forms a kind of umbrella.
