Broomball

Broomball is a team sport that is played with five field players and a goalkeeper on an approximately 60 m long and 30 m wide ice surface. The aim of the game is to convey the gaming device, a ball, using a Brooms ( bat ) into the opponent's goal. Players are equipped with special anti-slip shoes to have on the smooth ice better traction. Two referee check whether the rules of the game are similar to the rules of hockey, and be respected.

Broomball is organized internationally by the International Federation of Broomball Associations ( IFBA ). The World Federation has 13 member associations today. The Canadian Broomball League is considered the best in the world.

Game rules

The rules of the game in broomball are the same rules as in ice hockey.

Pitch

  • Broomball is played on a clean and freed from snow ice such as ice hockey. The dimensions of the playing field be 60x30 meters.

Teams, players

The game

The effective playing time is 2x20 minutes. After the first half, a break of at least two minutes to be loaded. After that, the page is swapped. A " time-out " of one minute per team is allowed. History
