Brother Alois

Brother Alois solver (French Frère "brother"; born June 11, 1954 in Nördlingen ) in August 2005 was the prior of the Taizé ecumenical brotherhood of and successor of the founder Roger Schutz.

Biography

Brother Alois ' real name is Alois solver. He grew up in Stuttgart. Brother Alois has two siblings, an older brother and a younger sister. His parents came as displaced persons from the Cheb region. His father was Wagner ( wheelwright ) and tram conductor, his mother a housewife supplied the family. In his youth he was in the Catholic parish of St. Nicholas ( Stuttgart-Ost ) engaged as an altar boy and youth leaders. Since he was 17, Alois attended the week-long meetings in Taizé. He was fascinated by Brother Roger, the prior of the monastic community.
