Browina, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Browina [ brɔvina ] ( German name until 1938: Browienen; 1938-45: Froben ) is a village in the Polish Warmian -Masurian in the rural community Kozłowo. Browina counts 54 inhabitants, of which only 44 are logged in Browina. 98.15 % (53 of 54) of the population are Catholics (as of January 2007).

Geography

Location

Browina is around 15 km south-west of Olsztynek ( Hohenstein ) and about 20 km northwest of Nidzica ( Neidenburg ). South of the village flows the river Maruszka, which is crossed by a bridge to the neighboring village Turowo. Browina located in the southern part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. As the village is located is quite high, there was no flooding.

The neighboring villages of Browina are lubian north, east Turówek, south and west Turowo Ulnowo.

Village subdivision

Climate

Lake

The only lake of the village can be found in Dolek: Bagno Browińskie ( Frobenscher lake). It is estimated that half a meter deep. Under this half a meter is again half a meter of mud. Economy
