Brünnstein

The Brünnstein is a 1,634 m high mountain in the Bavarian Alps in Mangfallgebirge near the Sudelfeldgebiets. Is celebrated as a rule the east summit (1619 m) with a small chapel and cross on the summit; he is one of the most popular excursion mountains of the region.
Solid, Approach
The Brünnstein is an elongated in east-west direction Kalkriff, the steep, north drops very steeply to the south.
In the eastern flank of the massif the Brünnsteinhaus ( 1345 m ), which is farmed almost all year round and offers accommodation located. It is accessible from Oberaudorf ( track from Gasthaus Rechenau 790 m, in demanding winter toboggan run ), of Kiefersfelden ( Rear Parking casting gorge 780 m), from Tatzelwurm or from the Gasthaus Rose alley.
Main peak
The highest point (1634 m) is touristy undeveloped; it can be reached from the east summit by non -dangerous scramble along the exposed Gratschneide; also the view is not worth the ascent.
East Summit
On Brünnsteinhaus and the Himmelreichalm start hiking trails that lead from the south to the eastern summit; they unite just before the summit, and then run through steep craggy ( somewhat exposed, lifelines ). Alternatively, you can reach the eastern summit of Brünnsteinhaus by the eastern flank on the Dr.- Julius- Mayr- way, a lightweight via ferrata ( difficulty A), the sure-footedness and freedom requires. In this way 45 minutes specified from the Brünnsteinhaus.
Brünnstein Schanze
On the Brünnstein you can indeed get easy access in winter, but all the more popular with ski touring and snowshoeing is the Brünnstein Schanze ( 1546 m), the neighboring peak a little further west.
