Bruno Weber

Bruno Weber ( born April 10, 1931 in Dietikon, † 24 October, 2011 Spreitenbach ) was a Swiss artist and architect of fantastic realism.

Life

Bruno Weber was born in 1931 in the Swiss Dietikon. 1947 graduated from Weber School of Applied Arts in Zurich under Johannes Itten, the founder of the theory of color. After that, he began an apprenticeship as a lithographer to 1949 at Orell Füssli, also in Zurich. These were followed by study trips to Italy, Greece and Czechoslovakia.

Work

From 1962, Weber extended his constantly Sculpture Park in Spreitenbach and Dietikon, where among other things his house is a 25 m high tower. The park covers an area of ​​20,000 m². The Sculpture Park is the work of art and the artist's oeuvre, which is visited by thousands annually. After Bruno Weber was for many years in Dietikon and Spreitenbach with the authorities in the dispute because of the illegally built house and the figures in the forest, made ​​with time, the peaceful coexistence and in 1998 received all buildings sweeping the official blessing. Thus, an association was established to indicate the way up to the park with columns by Weber. In order that the work on the water garden, the centerpiece of the park, could go forward, a Bruno -Weber Foundation was established.

From 1991 to 2003 Weber was responsible for the design space on the Uetliberg. Today is the sculpture trail.

Bruno Weber worked in particular together with the Zurich architect Justus Dahinden. Weber created sculptures for Thither Dens buildings, such as the original restaurant Tantris in Munich, the facade of the University Library of the Technical University of Vienna and the Taurus home in Zurich - Witikon.

Before Weber discovered his passion for the three-dimensional sculptures, he painted a good thirty years pictures. Based on his pictures, you can, in contrast to his sculptures, identify a development that is based on Cézanne and Gubler. The latest images show him as a fantastic realists, with which he is most aptly characterized.
