Büchelstein

BWf1

The Buechelstein is 832 m above sea level. NN -high mountain in the southern Bavarian forest near the higher Brotjacklriegel.

Its forested slopes overhanging the Lallinger angle to the east and the town of Grattersdorf in the north. A little below the highest point there is a lookout with a large cross on the summit and a wide panoramic view of parts of Lower Bavaria, in Föhneinfluss in autumn even to the chain of summits of the Alps from the Dachstein to the Zugspitze. Furthermore, it was built here a launch pad for hang-gliders that start with appropriate thermals. On the Buechelstein perform several fairly short trails from Grattersdorf, Kerschbaum or long Furth, also leads the European long-distance hiking trail E8 close to the lookout over.

Perhaps the Buechelstein is eponymous for the Pichelsteiner stew. On June 17, 1839 the Count Sauerland Judge Jacob Strelin was celebrated for the first time the Büchelsteiner hard at the suggestion that in Grattersdorf was continued later.
