Buchs, Zurich

Buchs is a municipality in the district of Dielsdorf the canton of Zurich in Switzerland.

Geography

Book is the Furttal at the foot of warehouses, near the city of Zurich.

The neighboring municipalities of the book are the communities Otelfingen, rain village, Dällikon, Danikon, Boppelsen, Niederhaslistrasse with Nassenwil, Rain Mountain and the county seat Dielsdorf.

Population

The population grew from 1900 to 1960 from about 500 to about 800 inhabitants. By 1983, they then grew to around 2,500 people, reaching in 2002 4259 inhabitants.

History

Since the 9th century, the village under the name Puhsaha is detectable (Bach the book). To 870 gave the landowners Landelohe and thus Puhsaha the monastery of St. Gall. Since by the Furttal led a Roman road Roman estates were built in book and Dällikon, of which traces still exist today. In the book the remains of cryptoporticus of the estate can be visited freely.
