Buckingham is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Lee County in the U.S. state of Florida with 4,036 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Buckingham is bordered to the west directly to Fort Myers. Interstate 75 and the Florida State Road 80 near lead past the CDP. Tampa is 200 miles and Miami 230 km away.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 4,036 inhabitants distributed to 1,705 households. The population density was 82.2 inh. / Km ². 91.5 % of the population were white, 3.5% African American, 0.1% Native American and 0.5 % Asian Americans. 2.4% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.0% in different ethnic groups. 10.1% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 25.3 % of all households lived in 34.4 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 76.5 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.71 persons and the average family size was 3.01 persons.
