Bugala Island

Bugala is the largest and the main island of Ssese Islands, which are identical to the district Kalangala, in the Ugandan part of Lake Victoria.

Bugala is named after the Tanzanian Ukerewe the second largest island in Lake Victoria. It measures 275 square kilometers, 34 km long, composed of dense jungle in the north-south direction, and is located in the northwest corner of the lake. The main town is Kalangala how Luku located in the north of the island. The two places are linked by matatu and bus.
