Buire-Courcelles

Buire -Courcelles ( Picard: Buire- Courchelle ) is a commune with 244 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region of northern France. The municipality belongs to the canton Peronne and is part of the Communauté de communes de la Haute Somme.

Geography

Buire -Courcelles is located east of Peronne at the department D199 road and north of the river Cologne. The municipality consists of two clearly separated parts of the municipality and Buire Courcelles (west of Buire ). The railway line from Peronne after Roisel is degraded.

History

Built in 1748 Castle of Buire is no longer available. The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
