The 336 km long Buchtarma ( Kazakh Бұқтырма; Russian Бухтарма ) is a right tributary of the Irtysh River in Kazakhstan East Kazakhstan region in Central Asia.

It rises in the extreme east of Kazakhstan in the Southern Altai, on the border triangle between Kazakhstan, Russia and China. From there it flows in a westerly direction, then joins in Syrjanowsk in the traversed by the Irtysh Buchtarma reservoir.
