Bülent Ünder

Bülent Ünder ( born April 16, 1949 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football player and current coach. He was an integral part of those designated by the Association and fan as legendary team that was the first club to win the Turkish Cup in seasons 1970/71, 1971/72 and 1972/73 three times in a row.

Playing career

Association

Ünder played his entire career for Galatasaray. In eight seasons was three times Ünder Turkish soccer champions and Cup Winners' Cup twice. He finished his career in 1978 with a testimonial match against city rivals Fenerbahce.

National

Turkish national football team played Ünder between 1973-1974 nine games. In 1974, he took with Turkey participates in ECO Cup and won the tournament the end of this.

Coaching career

Bülent Ünder began his coaching career in the 1991/92 season at Çengelköyspor. After already one years Ünder moved to the then second division club Denizlispor. There, however, he was released after a short time. Ünder returned three years later returned as an assistant coach Fatih Terim's Galatasaray Istanbul to the dugout. From 1996 to 2000 Bülent Ünder was on the side of Terim four Turkish Champions, two Turkish Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Cup winners.

After Terim Galatasaray left in the summer of 2000 and moved to Italy for Fiorentina, Galatasaray also Ünder left and was in the 2000 /01 season, head coach at Samsunspor. In his only season, he managed to defeat his team Galatasaray in their own home stadium, something that only a few managed at this time.

During the season 2005/ 06 Bülent Ünder returned to Galatasaray. He was game analyst Eric Gerets. Since March 25, 2011 Ünder is head coach of Galatasaray. The commitment is valid until end of season.
