Bulgaria women's national volleyball team

The Bulgarian national volleyball team of women is a selection of the best Bulgarian players, the Bulgarska Federatsiya Volejbol represented in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World Championships

At the first World Volleyball Championship, the Bulgarians occupied the fourth place in 1952. After the fifth place in 1956, they repeated this result in 1962. At the European Championships in 1970 they did not come despite the home advantage on the sixth addition. In 1998, she returned as eleventh and four years later they finished eighth.

Olympic games

In their only previous participation in an Olympic tournament, the Bulgarian women 1980 won the bronze medal in Moscow.

European Championships

In 1950 the European Volleyball Championship held in Bulgaria and the hosts missed fourth barely a medal. From 1955 to 1963, the Bulgarian women occupied the fifth place three times.
