Bulgarian Men's High School of Thessaloniki

The national grammar school Cyril and Methodius is the oldest high school in Blagoevgrad (Bulgaria).

History

Founded in today's high school in 1880 in Thessaloniki by the Bulgarian community under the name Bulgarian men school " Cyril and Methodius ". Assistance was provided by the Bulgarian Exarchate and Metodi Kusewitsch. Financial support was from the Exarchate, the Bulgarian church in Thessalonica, Prince Aleksandar Bogoridi and other Bulgarians from Macedonia.

After the Balkan wars of 1912/1913 the School of Thessaloniki was sold and moved in 1920 Strumica with their teachers and students according to Blagoevgrad.

School concept

At high school German, English, French, Spanish are taught as first and second languages. The German learning students participate in various international projects, such as with Finland, the image project, the project with the French school " De Golle " from Sierk.
