The Federal Highway 562 (abbreviated as BAB 562 ) - Short form: Highway 562 (abbreviated as A 562 ) - is located entirely within the city of Bonn. It starts on the left bank railway line or railway parallel road ( Nahum Goldmann Avenue, August- Bebel- Allee), passes under the highway 9, crossed the Rhine and ends after the motorway junction Bonn -Ost to four kilometers with a temporary connection point. For Bonn it has a high traffic importance, since they ( officially called south bridge, as the " Konrad- Adenauer-Brücke " means ) leads along the south of the three Bonn Rhine bridges.

In the area of the Rhine Bridge, which accounts for about half of the total length of the A 562, located on either side of the highway for pedestrians and cyclists. The center strip is formed there by a light rail line, at the left bank of the Rhine also has a stop ( floodplain ) in the middle of the highway.

In September 2011, the Junction 3 of city of Bonn in Bonn -South - Ramer village was renamed.

Original planning

The A 562 was originally part of the discontinued Planning A 56, which should come from Selfkantbahn on the Dutch border via Jülich, Düren and Euskirchen in Bonn and led towards Waldbroel and thus should produce a southern bypass of the Cologne ring.

On the A565, the A 1 and A 44 were as Bauvorleistungen including for the planned interchanges with the planned A 56 partially a bridge partly built almost the entire cross. In Bonn- Ückesdorf A 565 via a bridge, which is almost completely buried and now has no function. The B 56n at the double junction Euskirchen ( 50.6776566.741925 ) only uses about 40 % of the width of the oversized for a federal highway bridge. Between the connection point and Euskirchen spans a " soda - bridge " a dirt road ( 50.6775346.748438 ). The AS Jülich -West ( 50.9140876.323383 ) on the A44 has been built as incomplete interchange with two tangents and two shamrocks. From the bridge of the A 56 through A 44, only the piers were built.

As the rest of this planning has long been an extension of the A 562 to the west ( Venusberg tunnel to the A 565 ) and east ( Ennertaufstieg as a three-lane federal highway 56n to A 3) as so-called Südtangente provided. This project, however, is highly controversial, as many residents fear impairments to the landscape, environmental degradation and induced additional traffic. As an alternative to Ennertaufstieg (also: Seven Mountain relief ) is proposed to improve the previously thin public transport services. Proponents do not argue against it, the measure would have a positive impact on the nature, as the ever-increasing pollution, particularly of the Seven Mountains ( Aegidienberg, Itten Bach) would fall sharply and through the partially underground route (1100 m long Ennerttunnel ) of Ennertaufstiegs the landscape would change significantly. In addition, the entire economic region Bonn Rhein-Sieg benefit of what they see confirmed in a report which predicts a very high cost -benefit factor. Several reports, including an Environmental Impact Study (EIS ), have spoken out against the Ennertaufstieg. The potential growth (growth of potential output ) and thus the future prosperity of the region would be but positively affected by the construction.

The project was canceled in 2003 as part of the update of the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan at the initiative of the State of NRW from the plan. As justification for the removal of the Ennertaufstiegs was stated that he would only frequented daily by 4,000 cars and the traffic in the Rhein- Sieg district would extend generally much more in a north-south than east-west direction.

The CDU faction in the council of the Rhein- Sieg district, a citizens' initiative of residents from Itten Bach and the City King Winter set to continue for a subsequent resumption of approximately 60 million euro Ennertaufstieges in the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan. After removal from the FTIP six alternative discharge options were tested, the most realistic of them is then a combination of two measures, the 331 include providing a new road from Upper Kassel at Junction Seven Mountains and for the relief of the country road tunnel through the Great Mount of Olives.

In the left-bank part of the A 562 marks the boundary between the formerly independent cities of Bonn and Bad Godesberg, since neither of the two cities wanted the highway in their field. As in 1972, the south bridge was opened to traffic, Bad Godesberg, however, was already incorporated. Thus, the highway now runs right through the city. For the left-bank extension of the A 562 areas were for decades kept free between the municipalities Bonn and Bad Godesberg. On 14 June 2006 the Bonn city council decided now a development of these areas, bringing the two former cities can now grow together permanently. An extension to the west under the railway line through with connection to the Servatiusstraße is discussed again and again.

Development

The highway opens up mainly the government quarter at the time of motorway construction newly formed ( now the Federal District), and in 1979 inaugurated leisure park for commuters from the Rhein- Sieg-Kreis.
