Federal highway 455 ( Abbreviation: B 455 ) is a federal highway in Germany. It leads from the Wiesbaden district Mainz- Kastel to Scots.

Course

The Federal Highway 455 begins at the Theodor Heuss Bridge in Mainz -Kastel, a district of Wiesbaden, and runs northeast through Wiesbaden suburbs towards the Taunus. Im Taunus federal road crosses the 455 federal highway 3 (A 3) and continues through Eppstein and Königstein im Taunus Königstein on the roundabout, at the Opel Zoo in Kronberg im Taunus and heads towards Oberursel ( Taunus). On the so-called " northern bypass " it runs around Oberursel and then merges with the A661. The section of the A661 from the beginning to Bad Homburger Kreuz and the section of the A 5 Homburger Kreuz from the bathroom to the junction Friedberg replace the highway now. By Rosbach vor der Höhe, Friedberg and Woelfersheim the road continues through the Wetterau. After Harb at Nidda the main road leads 455 by Scots.

Changes in the course and grades for other reasons

Originally, the federal highway 455 through Oberursel, where they become the county road ( 772 K ) or to the main road (L 3004 ) by the construction of the " northern bypass " was downgraded. Almost at the same time was also the gradation from the end of the motorway A 661 to the junction Friedberg of A 5, where it was downgraded in the fields of Bad Homburg and Friedrichsdorf now for municipal road or the main road (L 3057 ). Nevertheless, the signs still shows both of Königstein and Friedberg from Bad Homburg.
