Bundesvision Song Contest

The first held in February 2005 Federal Vision Song Contest ( portmanteau of the prefix " federal ... " in relation to the Federal Republic of Germany and Euro Vision Song Contest, in short: BuViSoCo ) is a German music competition, which was launched in 2005 by Stefan Raab. In this German artists compete against each other, representing a German state, respectively. One aim of the program is the promotion of German music, so there is a participation requirement that at least 50 percent of the text must be German. As with the Euro Vision Song Contest of the Federal Vision Song Contest the following year will be held in the winning country.

The winner is determined by phone / SMS voting by viewers. In contrast to the Euro Vision Song Contest, it is also possible to vote for his own country. The votes are counted separately here as in the Euro Vision Song Contest by country and announced by live circuits in each country. ProSieben is supported by local radio stations ( one per country) that are involved in the selection of candidates.

Only in the first year the event was scheduled on Saturday, which is reserved for the main transmitters usually for particularly promising quota shipments. Since then, the competition takes place on a Thursday or Friday. In the first years, the event always took place in mid-February. Since Stefan Raab the talent show Unser Star für Oslo organized in the spring of 2010, the Federal Vision Song Contest will be held only in the fall.
