Burgberg (ridge)

(Also called the Castle Mountain ) Castle Hill is an up to 355 m above sea level. NN high ridge of the Weser Uplands in Bevern in the district of Minden wood.

Geographical location

The castle hill, which belongs to the Solling -Vogler, located between the low mountain ranges in the north Vogler, Homburg Forest in the northeast and Solling in the south. It lies between Warbsen in the north, Golmbach in the northeast, Negenborn in the east, in the southeast Arholzen, Lobach in the south, Bevern in the southwest as well as forestry and the Weser to the west.

On the Great Everstein ( 345.2 m above sea level. NN ) and Little Everstein are ruins of the castle Everstein.

In the central part of the ridge is on the castle hill, the tower of the former royal Prussian optical telegraph station No. 28, part of the telegraph line Berlin -Koblenz ( Lage51.8767699.522572 ). There are also remains of foundations of the station building exists. The tower is not accessible to the public. A display board explaining the history of optical telegraphy.

Reserves

On the steep northern slope of Castle Hill, the woman shoe surface, a remnant of the use of the castle mountain slopes as grazing land for sheep and goats is.
