Burgruine Reisberg

The ruins Reisberg is in the same place Reisberg at Wolfsberg in Carinthia. 1194 is first mentioned in a " Walcher of Reisberg ". 1246 bought Eberhard II of Regensburg as Archbishop of Salzburg, the rule Reisberg. In the list of archbishops of Salzburg seems to be a " Johann II von Reisberg " on ( 1429-1441 ). In 1480 it was occupied by imperial troops. The last nurse Salzburg Hieronymus von Reisberg died in 1565 and is buried in St.Marein. Since then the castle has been left to decay, only the three-story east wall dominates the church of Reisberg and can be seen as a prominent landmark from the Lavant Valley against the Saualpe.
